Our Story

Wolverine Lake was created in the 1920s through a private damming and inundation project funded by local dentist and developer Howard Stuart. Wolverine Lake was created from six small lakes; Spring, Mayze, Pork Barrel, Bicking, Taylor and Bradley, all surrounded by marsh land. The idea to build a dam came to Dr. Stuart one spring day in 1914 while out walking along the culvert that crossed the road where the dam is now...

Yard Waste Bag/Can Collection Through GFL (Green For Life Environmental) Has Begun. Cans Should Be Clearly Marked As Yard Waste And Cannot Be Larger Than 32 Gallons. Bags Or Cans Must Not Exceed 50 pounds.

Branches Must Not Exceed 4 Feet In Length And 2 Inches In Diameter And MUST Be In A Tied Bundle Or Placed In Compost Bags Or Cans. Branches Just Piled At The Curb WILL NOT Be Collected.

Yard Waste DOES NOT Include Sod, Dirt, Sand, Gravel, Rocks, Logs Over 2 inches In Diameter, Pet Waste Or Dead Animals.
