Waterfowl Management

Excessive populations of Mute Swans and Canadian Geese can be a determent to aquatic plant life, other waterfowl, plants and even a danger to humans in some cases. The Water Management Board's policy, which has been approved by Village Council, for managing their populations is to follow Federal, State and Local waterfowl management policies and procedures.
 
Below you will find information regarding our annual Goose Nest/Egg Destruction and Goose Round Up that we perform annually to help mitigate the levels of e-coli heading into the lake and causing health and sanitary issues for residents. All sites eligible for nest destruction must participate in this program prior to be allowed to receive a permit for goose roundup, no exceptions.
