Yard Waste:
2011 Leaf Collection
The Tink Claw Leaf Collection will begin Monday, October 31 at Shankin and South Commerce. The DPW will work north and then in a counter clockwise direction around the Village.
Please watch for the red and white postings at the entrance of your subdivisions.
This route will continue in a counter clockwise fashion around the Village until the entire community is complete.
Please remember that our workers will try their best to keep to schedule however, due to weather conditions, equipment failure, or any other unforeseen situation the schedule may be altered. The second round will begin following the review of the DPW and the amount of the leaf fall.
Hints, suggestions and reminders:
- Yard waste collection ends November 29
- There will be no Tink Claw operation on Garbage Day (Tuesdays)
- Don’t wait for your subdivision to be posted, keep up with the leaves by raking or blowing them down to the ditch line of your property ahead of time
- Once your subdivision is posted for a particular date, place your leaves onto the pavement in such a fashion as not to impede traffic (long narrow piles are recommended)
Use a tarp to haul leaves from your backyard to the front
- Remember the Tink Claw is a bulk pick-up system. Some debris will be left behind. Please help keep the Village clean and clean up the remains
- We encourage residents with small amounts of leaves to mulch or bag
- A package of recycle bags are available to each resident at Village Hall
- Leaves can also be placed into garbage cans not exceeding 32 gallons and should be marked with ‘Yard Waste’. Stickers are available at Village Hall
- Residents who live on the main roads without access to side roads must place leaves onto their driveway or locate a flat surface away from any obstruction on your property. Please note that some lawn damage may occur
- Keep children out of the piles on the street
- Avoid parking on the street during pick-up days
- DO NOT park near leaf piles or drive through leaf piles due to a risk of fire developing
